    I had a great stay at this hostel. It has a beautiful garden and a nice pool, a decent kitchen and the owners are friendly. Cooktown is a beautiful unspoiled town and is surrounded by many national parks and beautiful beaches.

    To be honest I stay at Pam's Place regularly. Scott and Ahdi always make me feel like I'm at home. They are always ready, willing and able to make my stay the best in Cooktown Town.

    There were no backpackers, just season workers and locals. The manager was so incredibly rude. My roomie was dreadfully sick with flu but when I asked to be moved to a different dorm the manager said I was just being hysterical. I got my money back and left.

    Everything you could need to enjoy Captain James Cook's repair "berth" in any weather, because they have a glorious pool, nice little dogies and quiet facilities. Great maps and found 3 antique copies of Enid Blyton's here.
